Contract for the Provision of Non Patient Transport Services

Tender description

Collection and delivery of pathology samples, which predominantly will be blood samples but will include other samples. These will generally be collected from General Practices or outlying inpatient/outpatient NHS locations and transported to the Pathology Laboratories at Hull Royal Infirmary in Hull and/or Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. Time will be a critical factor in the delivery of samples as Blood will need to be delivered for analysis within 2 hours ideally but no later than 4 hours for the sample to remain effective. Also collection and distribution of mail, confidential information, clinical information, surgical instrumentation both clean and contaminated, pharmacological supplies and other packages and supplies as required. All of these requirements will be both on a pre arranged schedule as well as on an ad hoc requirement and will include deliveries between all of the contract authorities sites as well as distribution to central areas.
