Tender description
This document relates to ‘Daywork Rates for In-House Painter Services 2016’. The works would be mainly in relation to the repainting of corridors, offices, classrooms, toilets and varnishing of timber works. This competition is open to both Sole traders and Companies. The intention is to make the appointment for an initial period of 1 year with provision for a maximum of two 1 year extensions depending on work performance and available funding. All information supplied by Tenderers may be treated as contractually binding on the Tenderers if accepted by the Institute. No commitment of any kind, contractual or otherwise shall exist unless and until a formal written contract has been executed by or on behalf of the Institute. Any notification of preferred bidder status by the Institute shall not give rise to any enforceable rights by the Tenderer. The Institute may cancel this public procurement competition at any time prior to a formal written contract being executed by or on behalf of the Institute. The Institute does not bind itself to accept the lowest price or any Tender. Should a contract be awarded, the successful Contractor will be based at the Main Campus in Bishopstown. The Main Campus has a building footprint of some 73,000m² on a site of 93 acres. The Institute also occupies a number of additional buildings located throughout the city. These buildings are included in this Contract. Actual daily working times will be agreed with the Buildings & Estates Office, the normal range being within 08.00 - 18.00 hrs, Monday to Friday inclusive, and a normal duration of eight actual working hours per day (usually 08.30 – 13.00 hrs and 14.00 – 17.30 hrs). Due to the core activities of the Institute being concentrated over a 30 week period each year it is likely that the majority of painting will be outside of these times. Work activities outside normal times will require advance planning/notice, justification and approval.
