Tender description

The University wishes to invite interested parties to a supplier briefing event on Thursday 9.9.2016 regarding the University's plans to establish a Framework Agreement made up of three contractors for the design and construction of a new student residence and mixed use campus: ‘University Court’. The deadline to register your interest in taking part in the supplier briefing event is 5.9.2016. University Court will be a mixed use development comprising of 1 500 student unit accommodation units including 10 ‘Y’ towers and townhouses as well as a student hub, lecturing and academic facilities at Oldbury Road, Worcester. It is presently proposed that the Framework will support the design and build of University Court which the University proposes will be constructed in two Project Phases. The University is also considering extending the scope of this framework to cover design and construction of the University's proposed new Severn Campus (it may or may not form part of the framework). It is envisaged that there would be three contractors awarded a place on the framework, with the highest scoring bidder being immediately and directly awarded the contract for the two-stage design and build Project Phase 1. These details are subject to change following the University's market testing exercise. This PIN is issued solely for the purpose of alerting the market to the anticipated procurement and to invite interested parties to a supplier briefing event. It is not a call to competition and does not constitute the commencement of the procurement process. For the avoidance of doubt, participation in the market sounding exercise is not a pre-requisite for the future procurement process nor does not it guarantee selection in a future procurement process. Further non-participation in this event will not be taken into account in any future procurement. The University may use information gathered during this market sounding process in order to plan its procurement strategy.
