Bournemouth Beach Management Groyne Building Programme 2016/17

Tender description

Bournemouth Borough Council are inviting expressions of interest for Bournemouth Beach Management Groyne Building Programme 2016/17. The Scope of Works to be carried out in this contract is summarised but is not limited to the following: • construction of 8 timber beach control structures, timber to be supplied by Bournemouth Borough Council; • deconstruction of 9 existing timber beach control structures. Timber to be recovered for Bournemouth Borough Council future groyne building works. In addition, the marking of timber for inspection during deconstruction for inspection, testing and sampling; • the dismantling and recovery of aluminium handrailing on the promenade; • co-ordination of works as Principal Contractor. The contract is expected to commence in October 2016 and will need to be complete by the end of April 2017. The Tender documentation is currently being drafted and will be released in due course with award of contract expected in September 2016.
