Tender description

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced contractors, for Building Services Project within the British Embassy Compound, Kathmandu, Nepal. The Main element of works relate to increasing the office space on the compound, this is achieved by the refurbishment and extension of the existing one storey chancery building and the construction of a new build single storey open plan office. The new building will have a simple concrete portal frame structure which will allow a generous ceiling height in the open plan office and the opportunity for clerestory lighting to let natural light into the heart of the space. The existing chancery building will be seismically retrofitted as part of the refurbishment works, the building is concrete framed. The new build office is an open plan concrete A-frame construction. The M&E in both buildings will be new, operating from a central plant room in the new building. The offices have been designed to a high quality (to international standards of design and construction) while taking advantage of locally available skills and materials. A new courtyard is to be created to the west of Building B and a covered veranda will link the existing buildings to a new block (Building C) flanking the courtyard. Heating and comfort cooling shall be provided to the office space via a 3 pipe heat recovery VRV system comprising floor standing outdoor units and surface mounted fan coil indoor units The works consist of; • Retrofitting existing chancery building A and refurbishing • Demolition of the rear of Building B • Extending the existing Chancery Building B • New build single storey office (10,000sqft) • Associated new build plant room for the offices • New water treatment plant for the offices • Site wide Landscaping improvements • Site wide surface improvements • New car and bike ports • All associated M&E installations
