Tender description

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) which includes HM Prison Service, and is referred to as the Authority, has a requirement for the road transportation and distribution of goods from HMP Ford. The goods will mainly be bedding plants, seasonal poppies, nursery stock as well as ad-hoc items. A suitable fleet of vehicles to deal with pillar pallets, cages and Danish trolleys or equivalent will be required. It is estimated that there will be 1 pick up from HMP Ford per day (Monday to Friday) and deliveries will be made to multiple nationwide secure sites (other prison establishments), although routes and numbers will vary/fluctuate throughout the year. Due to the nature of the goods, time will be crucial to performance as will good customer service and regular management information. This opportunity is expected to be sourced for 2 to 4 years.
