Tender description

This Contract is for the provision of site preparation works (“the Works”) for the Strule Shared Education Campus (SSEC), which will be delivered under a separate contract and consists of 5 schools, shared facilities, 13 playing pitches (natural and artificial turf) and an assortment of infrastructure and parking facilities. This Contract is in relation to the “SSEC Site Preparation Works‘’. These site preparation works will consist of, but are not limited to, the following key aspects: Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and Design: — Bulk earthworks soil improvement/stabilisation and reinforced earth retaining embankments; — Management and coordination of environmental consultancy for brownfield remediation; and — Management and coordination of environmental consultancy for ecological features. Civil Engineering Works: — Site clearance including removal of redundant substructures, foundations, roads, kerbs, paving, hard standing areas, unsuitable demolition materials; — Diversion of existing NI Water foul sewers; — Diversion of existing storm culverts/sewers; — Earthworks cut/fill, to establish suitable building and hard standing formation platforms for future main works package; — Soil improvement/stabilisation of unsuitable excavated soils to be used for fill; — Temporary removal to on-site stockpile, treatment and reinstatement of recently placed soil fill arising from excavated soils from Arvalee School site and recycled demolition materials, which were poorly compacted and deemed unsuitable. Soils/material to be reinstated including suitable compaction and soil improvement/stabilisation; — Earth retaining reinforced embankments; — Removal of surplus excavated material and unsuitable material; — Formation of stone haul road for future main works contract; — Formation of stone platforms on each building site for future main works contract; — Removal of existing redundant underground drainage; — Protection of pedestrian and vehicular access to Arvalee School; — Landscaping works; — Installation of protection to ecological features; — Diversion of overhead NIE cables; and — Potential management of asbestos containing material within services/ site materials. The estimated Project/Contract period for the SSEC Site Preparation Works is 37 weeks.
