Highcliffe Castle Phase 7 - Landscaping Works

Tender description

Highcliffe Castle is a Grade 1 listed building surrounded by 14 acres of historic cliff top grounds incorporating woodland, formal and informal lawns and gardens, trails and paths and car park. Featuring elements of the remains of a 1770's Capability Brown landscape there are paths to the adjacent Rothesay Park woodland and Steamer Point Nature Reserve. Views to the Isle of Wight and The Needles are found above the award winning Highcliffe Beaches. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Council is embarking on a project to improve the grounds which includes - Restoration of historic paths and creation of new paths - Extension to car parking and car park surfacing - Tree surgery - Tree and shrub clearance and planting - Installation of parkland fencing - Construction of natural play features re-using timber felled on the site The Council will be tendering a works contract for this project.
