Tender description

Construction of a BER A3 rated ambulance station building on a greenfield site on the outskirts of Edenderry. The ambulance base consists of a mixture of industrial type garage construction and a separate administration/accommodation block. The garage area consists of 2 sections. 1 entirely enclosed and a separate covered garage which is open to the elements on 3 sides. Gross Internal Floor Area of building and garage: approx. 418m2. The garage area consists of 2 sections. 1 entirely enclosed and a separate covered garage which is open to the elements on 3 sides. The administration and accommodation block include a manager's office, supervisor's office, duty room with kitchen, a training room, staff changing room, locker room with changing facilities, toilets and showers. It also requires ancillary service rooms such as a sluice room, laundry, utility room, medical store rooms and other store rooms. The building structure will be composite steel frame and blockwork construction with a pressed aluminium cladding panel finish. The roof construction will be a steel framed mono-pitch roof with metal deck and a standing seam roof finish. Windows will be triple glazed alu-clad or similar window system and doors. The industrial garage construction will be the same structure and finishes as the remainder of the building and will be large enough to house a single ambulance and will include automated up and over sectional overhead entrance and exit doors. The open covered garage will accommodate 2 ambulances with the roof supported on cantilevered tapered steel beams. Site works include an ambulance wash area, an underground LPG tank, biocellular attenuation, a rainwater harvesting tank, enclosed back-up generator and other electrical, gas, foul and surface water services installations. The site area will be finished with a mixture of soft and hard landscaping, tarmac roads, line-marking and site lighting, site CCTV and parking areas. The site perimeter will enclosed with vertical bar fencing and an automated sliding gate. Gross Internal Floor Area of building and garage: approx. 418m2.
