Islington Council is seeking to procure minor construction works for a programme of shop front improvements in the Finsbury Park town centre area of north London. Islington Council is seeking to appoint an experienced works partner to deliver the physical improvements for 20 weeks from June 2016 to November 2016. Finsbury Park Shop Front Improvement Works Programme Islington Council is coordinating this programme in partnership with the London Boroughs of Hackney and Haringey. Islington Council is the lead authority for the works and the Council’s Town Centre Management team is overseeing the programme. Improvements will be made to a minimum of 25 shop fronts within the town centre area, including commercial units in Hackney, Haringey and Islington. An Architect was appointed in December 2015 and has developed detailed designs for a number of shop front improvements. Planning permission has been sought where relevant. The project team is now in the position to appoint a contractor to deliver these works. It is anticipated that the contractor will be appointed in June 2016 and the works completed within a 20 week period from an agreed start date. The appointed contractor will be contracted directly by Islington Council. The Architect will oversee the day-to-day management of the contractor and the works. The Architect will monitor the quality and progress of works, and report regularly to the Town Centre Management team at Islington Council. See attached advert.
