Tender description

Notice of Supplier Engagement Event: This Prior Information Notice is to inform economic operators that Barts Health NHS Trust (the ‘Authority’) intends to hold a supplier engagement event in relation to the following transport related services (the ‘Services’): — Central transport call-centre (covering help desk and patient eligibility assessment) — Non-emergency patient transport services (excluding renal) — Dedicated renal services — Higher dependency ambulance services — Other specialised transport services (i.e. mental health) — Pathology Courier — Courier — Staff Transport (i.e. taxi's) — Fleet and pool cars. Prior to commencing a formal tendering exercise for these Services, the Authority is keen to hear from suitably qualified organisations who are potentially interested in providing elements of these and as a prelude to this we will be holding a supplier engagement event which will take place on 17.5.2016 in the Great Hall at St Bartholomew's Hospital, West Smithfield, EC1A 7BE. We want to make sure, before deciding on the best way forward, that our contract will provide safe and compassionate care for all our patients, a responsive service to our staff, value for money to the Authority and is commercially viable for providers. The day will consist of short presentations, questions and answers from the floor and the opportunity for individual discussion with those charged with taking the process forward. We particularly want to hear provider's views about: a) how best to package this contract; b) how long the contract should run for; c) depot facilities; d) the lead-in period needed by a successful provider to source and adapt the vehicles, and manage the transfer of the existing drivers and support staff under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE); e) the best procurement method to use for this contract; and f) the commercial attractiveness and any complexities of tendering a framework contract that other Authorities could join at a later date. During the supplier event, we expect to hold a facilitated session where our potential supply partners will be provided with an opportunity to shape this important piece of work. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in this exploratory discussion. Please note due to space limitations we are only able to accommodate 2 delegates per organisation. Suppliers wishing to express an interest in this procurement or register to attend the supplier event should do so by, emailing their interest to Jason Stanton (Jason.Stanton@bartshealth.nhs.uk) by 17:00 on 10.5.2016. Further details of the supplier event will be provided upon registration.
