The Academy Grimsby – Phase 3 Development

Redevelopment of part of the existing Academy building to accommodate new classrooms, science laboratories, workshops, care suite, offices and 6th Form. An Enabling contract should have been executed prior to these works commencing dealing with the soft strip, demolition and some of the structural alterations. An asbestos strip out has also been undertaken although asbestos remains within the floor void and ceilings. The potential contractor is required to note the demanding programme and is to allow for resourcing the contract accordingly. By arrangement the potential contractor is free to extend the working day/week as required to maintain programme mindful of the defined contract restrictions. School day to be noted as deliveries area to be worked around busy period; • School opens – 8.30am • Morning break 11.15am -11.35am • Lunch – 1.15pm -2.00pm • School closes – 3.40pm Note - Exams being undertaken until 17th June 16 within the front 'live' portion of the building and due care and consideration will be required. The Group will be nominating Lab Systems Ltd to do Laboratory fit out and fixed furniture within classrooms and IT suite. You will be required to include a pc sum within your submission to the amount of £60,925.75 net of VAT. Lab Systems will be on site refurbishing the area identified as the new laboratories on the drawing plans. For the purpose of this contract they will come under your Management for the purpose of the CDM Regulations.
