Tender description

The University of Leeds is undertaking a procurement exercise to appoint a Principal Contractor to deliver a circa 9,500-10,000m2 major new build construction project on the south east corner of the main campus off Woodhouse Lane in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is intended to award a single Works Contract with an approximate construction value of GBP 25-27 000 000 to a single main contractor in late 2016 for the build of the University Innovation and Enterprise Centre (UIEC). The University of Leeds is undertaking a Market Consultation Exercise in relation to the new circa 9,500-10,000m2 Innovation and Enterprise Centre off Woodhouse Lane. The University and its project team wish to gain early market intelligence, cost and technical advice from market participants during RIBA Stages 2 and 3 Design on: • The most suitable design and construction solutions for key building elements including structural frame, facades and M&E systems • General feedback on but not limited to initial and developing design information in respect of buildability, clarity and completeness of information, detailing and specification • Preferred procurement procedure and requirements (including supply chain procurement), commercial models and options under NEC3 form of contract The University wishes to engage with contractors with a proven track record of delivering office and /or education projects in the last 3 years over GBP 15 000 000 in value.
