Propylaeum Repairs

Tender description

The works consist of the repairs to the Propylaeum and adjacent walls, a Listed Building within a Scheduled Monument site. The proposed works have received Listed Building Consent and Scheduled Monument Consent. The proposed repairs to the Propylaeum and adjacent boundary walls, comprise: - Repairs, removal of vegetation and gentle cleaning of the stonework generally - Underpinning part of the building which has suffered from subsidence with micro-piles - Dismantling of existing stone roofs, repairs to a stone roof soffit to prevent falling masonry, repairs to damaged stonework and reinstatement of the stone roofs - New lead sheeting over roofs to prevent further water penetration - Lining to gutters and improvements to above ground drainage, and improvements to below ground drainage - Cleaning and painting to ironwork - Resurfacing and other minor external works - Removal of existing electrical cabling and fittings - New lighting and CCTV systems - New signage - New anti-pigeon netting - Other associated permanent and temporary works The Propylaeum provides the access point to a car-park and various occupied buildings. The requirement includes maintaining access for vehicles and pedestrians. Some of the works are in/ adjacent to the highway. The project will require skilful management and good communications.
