Eastbourne Borough Council seeks expressions of interest from suitable building contractors to tender for the Design and Build Contract for the construction of two residential development schemes in Eastbourne: • Scheme 1: Sumach Close, Eastbourne - 13 no. 2 bed and 1 bed flats for affordable rent - Estimated design and build contract value - £1,600,000 • Scheme 2: Rodmill Drive, Eastbourne - 4 No. 3 bed houses for shared ownership - Estimated design and build contract value - £ 760,000 The anticipated commencement date for the Works is Feb/Mar 2016 and anticipated contract period is 12 months (Feb/March 2017) To achieve selection to the tender list, the Contractor must: 1 Have an annual turnover of a minimum of £ 5 million 2 Be capable of providing a bond or parent company guarantee. (This may or may not be taken out dependent upon the financial position of the successful contractor) 3 Have a minimum Professional Indemnity Insurance level of £ 5 million for each and every incident plus Employer’s Liability and Public Liability insurance to a level of £5 million, or be willing to obtain the same. 4 Have a proven track record in delivering new build residential projects of this size on budget, on time and to the required quality. This is to be demonstrated by references on 3 projects from the Employer 5 Have adequate resources and capacity to tender and deliver the project within the next 12 to 18 months Any response to this advertisement shall include proof of the above selection criteria.
