90170R - Provision of Refurbishment works to Handsworth Wellbeing Centre

Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for: • External and internal refurbishment works. Brief Description of Works: Refurbishment and conversion and adaptation of the ground and first floors to provide: Ground floor: • Refurbishment of the existing Playcentre to provide a Dance studio and Fitness Class adjacent. • Refurbishment of existing sports hall. • Provision of a new link corridor for access from the main reception area to the Dance Studio. - Inclusive of demolition of existing spiral staircase. • Conversion and adaptation of Male Changing Room to provide Female Changing Room and Shower Room. • Refurbishment of Reception Area and Toilets. • Alterations to the existing Male and Female Changing Rooms to provide access to the new Disabled WC and Shower. • Installation of a Passenger Lift. - For disabled access to the 1st floor. • New Disabled WC and Shower. • Refurbishment of the Large Swimming Pool. - Roof. - Internal decorations to the ceiling. 1st Floor: • Conversion and adaptation of Female Changing Room to provide Male Changing Room and Shower Room. • Conversion and adaptation of Male and Female Toilets/Cleaner and Store Rooms to provide Male and Female Toilets. • Conversion and adaptation of Studio to provide Consultant Room / Waiting Area and Store. • Conversion and adaptation of Male and Female Toilets to provide Multi-Purpose Room. • Alterations adjacent to the new lift to provide a lobby as access to the Multi-Purpose Room corridor to existing stairs. • Alterations and Refurbishment works to the Gymnasium. - The renewal of the floor covering. - New Gymnasium equipment to be installed. • Alterations to existing Store to form Corridor. External Works: • Redecorate windows to the left of the main reception entrance to the ground and first floors. • Redecorate 2No rendered barrelled areas adjacent to the main entrance. • Construct link corridor from existing reception to the new dance studio. The Council will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration and evaluation of this tender process, which along with the project scope and specification may also include requirements to provide the following for consideration:- • Company Profile – Turnover, Organograms, Client Relationships, Sales Pipeline, Professional Body Registration / Memberships • Trade and Bank references (where appropriate). • Evidence of acceptable H&S and Quality Management Systems & Practices • Evidence of insurances to support required levels of indemnity & liability • Evidence of recent project history working on similar projects in similar environments with supporting case studies and method statements • Evidence of compliance with Birmingham Business Charter for S...
