Tender description

The core requirement of the system is to transfer information on the total quantity of each antibiotic product used on UK pig farms into a national Pig Industry Medicine Hub, from where aggregated data will need to be exported into the VMD (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) central data hub for national-level, multi-species data capture. The Pig Industry Medicine Hub would facilitate existing on-farm record keeping activities and allow farmers to track and assess their own use of antibiotics over time. The system will periodically transfer anonymised aggregate industry data to the VMD central data hub for national analysis and to enable the UK to meet anticipated future EU requirements for data submission.
