The scope of work involves the full upgrade of the Fire Alarm and Intruder Alarm installations and associated electrical and builders works at Limerick City Adult Education Service O’Connell Avenue, Limerick. The main school is a four storey building over basement plant room constructed in masonry and red brickwork and with a pitched slate roof. The building is listed (No. 21521042) and dates from 1909. The school complex also includes a single storey GP Hall and ancillary accommodation and prefabricated buildings to the rear of the site. The boiler house is located in the basement accessed from the rear yard. The scope of works for the Fire Alarm and Intruder Alarm includes a) Isolation, removal and disposal of all redundant services to a licenced waste facility b) Supply and install a New Fire Alarm System Type L3, c) Supply and Install a New Intruder Alarm System d) All associated electrical services installations e) Testing & commissioning of the new systems f) All associated builders works, opening up, making good and re-decoration to match existing finishes g) Ongoing cleaning during the works h) Maintenance of the new installations for the defects liability period (12 months) The works will be carried out during normal business hours when the school will be operational and the contractor shall be required to complete the works in an operational school environment with extended working hours as required to gain access to areas with restricted access during normal hours.
