Distribution Main Replacement Contract 2014 on behalf of Maghercloone GWS, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan.

Tender description

The works comprise of the replacement of circa 2040m of existing uPVC Class C distribution water main in 4 locations marked on the provided drawings along road numbers L4903-0 and L4900-0 in the town-lands Greaghlone, Tonaneeve, Tullylougherny and Drumgoosat with a 160mm OD 16 bar SDR 11 polyethylene pipe. 620m of this project will be through road and the remaining 1420m will be along grass verge. The installation of the new pipeline includes connecting onto the existing pipe at eight locations, marked on the drawings provided as well as all necessary fittings, valves and ancillary works as specified and the temporary and permanent reinstatement to all surfaces affected by the works. The proposed works comprise of laying 4 sections of 160mm 16 bar HPPE Pipe including all associated ancillary works. Section A comprises of the installation of 500m of new 160mm HPPE pipe. Section B comprises of the installation of 263m of 160mm HPPE pipe. Section C comprises of the installation of 277mm of 160mm HPPE pipe. Section D will comprise of the installation of 1000m of new 160mm HPPE pipe. Section A will be 50% in the grass verge and 50% in the road. Section B will be 50% in the grass verge and 50% in the road. Section C will be 50% in the grass verge and 50% in the road. Section D will be 90% in the grass verge and 10% in the road. The pipe shall be laid using the traditional open cut method. There will also be the installation of 2 sluice valves, 4 fire hydrants, 1 air valve, 5 scour valves, 13 service connections and meter boxes.
