Search live procurement portals for BESS and battery energy storage notices, or work earlier: on Stotles you can see which buyers have flagged decarbonisation or net zero programmes and read the strategy documents behind a project before it reaches tender. Battery storage work is often bundled into a wider solar PV or energy programme, so a buyer's broader net zero plan is often a stronger signal than the notice itself.

Mostly as design-and-build contracts that bundle the battery with a solar PV installation, rather than a standalone battery purchase. A single tender typically covers design, supply, installation, commissioning and sometimes ongoing maintenance. Larger grid-scale sites and multi-site framework programmes do appear, but most notices are project-specific rather than framework call-offs.

136 of the 337 battery storage notices tracked to date have reached award. The rest are a mix of closed competitions and pre-tender activity, which reflects how many of these projects are still working through market engagement or design stages rather than being routine repeat purchases.

CPV 31422000 (Battery packs) is the code most specific to the physical battery, while 09330000 (Solar energy) appears widely because most battery storage projects are bundled with a solar PV installation. Neither code is unique to battery storage on its own, so the keyword filter, not the CPV code, does the real work of finding these notices.
