Tender description
The University wishes to establish a contract for the provision of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) System Maintenance, Design, Installation and Consultation Services which will ensure that it’s LEV systems are maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards. <br /><br />Exclusions:<br />The Framework will not include the following:<br />The thorough examination and testing of any LEV systems. This inspection service is sourced via an independent supplier procured through a separate contract. <br /><br />Inclusions:<br />The contract will include the following:<br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 63 Supply Air Handling Units (sAHUs) including the replacement of filters, drive belts and the resetting of any associated air flow alarms. <br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 127 Constant Air Volume (CAV) Ducted Fume Cupboards (DFC) and resetting of any associated air flow alarms. <br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 223 Variable Air Volume (VAV) DFCs and the resetting of any associated air flow alarms. <br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 138 Extraction Fans (EF) including the replacement of associated drive belts. <br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 6 Strobic EFs. <br />Maintenance inspections of circa. 358 non-fume cupboard LEV Systems, ranging from desktop solder fume extracts to complex, high volume, multi-hood systems. <br />Producing of reports detailing all actions performed and any comments or recommendations made during each Maintenance visit, for each piece of equipment, and uploading of the report to the UoB’s Prime Database. <br />Re-labelling of sAHUs, FCs and EFs as one FC system. <br />Communicating with UoB’s BEMS Team prior to, during and post maintenance inspection works. <br /><br />Potential Additional Value:<br />The UoB requires support with remedial works highlighted within either TEXT reports (supplier via a separate contract) or LEV maintenance reports. <br />The UoB requires from time-to-time support in the design and installation of new LEV Systems and the re-design and modification of existing LEV Systems along with associated consultancy led advise and guidance.<br /><br />The Framework Agreement will last for a maximum period of four (4) years from the effective date of the Framework Agreement. This will consist of an initial term of three (3) years with an option to extend for one (1) further year period, subject to satisfactory annual service and commercial reviews. <br /><br />It is anticipated that one (1) supplier will be awarded a Framework Agreement for the Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) System Maintenance, Design, Installation and Consultation Services. Although the University reserves the right to award to more than Contractor. <br /><br />A site visit will be mandatory, please see separate document for details. <br /><br />Note: As of the 1st January the University is no longer operating as a Public Contracting Authority under the UK Procurement Act 2023. Therefore, this tender will not be subject to the provisions of the Act.
