Tender description
CoCH is a local acute provider able to deliver the required combination of paediatric inpatient medical oversight, physical health monitoring, pathology access, dietetic support, and HCA support for young people admitted with severe Eating Disorder presentations identified by CHEDS. The provider already delivers this service as part of an established clinical pathway, ensuring clinical safety, continuity of care, and compliance with national requirements. The clinical risk associated with ED admissions requires immediate and consistent paediatric medical cover, rapid access to investigations, and close liaison with CHEDS, which can be safely and effectively provided by the existing acute Trust. Transitioning the service to an alternative provider could pose patient safety risks, disrupt established MDT relationships, and lead to delays or fragmentation of care. The Trust has a proven record of providing the service to the required standard, including guideline development, audit participation, and integration with CHEDS. On this basis, the contract meets the criteria for Direct Award Process C, with a clear and justifiable rationale for continuity with the incumbent provider. Lot 1: This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award. The standstill period begins on the day after the publication of this notice. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by 25th March 2026 to cwp.contracts@nhs.net. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR. There has been no substantial change to the nature or cost of the service delivered. The existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed contract to a sufficient standard" with the weighting 100 Approximate Lifetime Value of the Contract - £68,415 The Service is intended to be provided; 01/04/2026 to 31/03/2027
