TC01381 - Replacement Cathodic Replacement to Quall Wall at 4 Berth, Harwich International Portt

Tender description

The work for the cathodic protection (CP) to the quay wall at 4 Berth includes the fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of a galvanic (sacrificial) aluminium anode system to the seaward face steel sheet-pile wall. The work also requires the removal and disposal of the existing cathodic protection system, comprising brackets and anodes, which are now coming to the end of their effective life. The existing brackets may be retained if the Contractor opts to use them for the new CP system. The 4 Berth main quay wall consists of a Frodingham 4N steel sheet-pile wall completed in 1985. The piles were coated retrospectively from underside of concrete cope level. The existing CP system for 4 Berth was retrospectively installed in 2005. It should be noted that an impressed-current CP system as an alternative will not be acceptable and will not be considered by the Employer. Note this is a draft and is subject to change. The purchaser reserves the right to only invite the top 5 scoring suppliers who reach or exceed the pre-qualification requirement to be invited to tender.
