Charter for Passive Acoustics Mooring Servicing, Grabbing & water sample collection for eDNA

Tender description

The Scottish Ministers invite tenders to provide vessel charter services for the deployment and retrieval of scientific equipment in Scottish waters. Lot 1: The Marine Directorate - Science, Evidence, Digital and Data (MD-SEDD) portfolio are seeking tenders from work boats to undertake deployment and recovery of acoustic monitoring equipment, Sediment grabbing and water sample collection for environmental DNA (eDNA) work. The tender will be for one or more trips between 1st March 2025 – 30th March 2025 (dates provided are flexible however up to a maximum of 20 days are required to be completed by the end of March 2025). The work will involve deploying and retrieving underwater passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) equipment off the north and east coasts of Scotland, which may include broadband sound recorders and cetacean echolocation detectors. At the same time grabs and water samples will be collated at certain locations. This work will be carried out on behalf of the Marine Directorate of Scottish Government.
