East Renfrewshire Council is inviting bids from contractors appointed to the East Renfrewshire Council Footways & Footpaths Framework Ref ERC000041. The Council is working to deliver improvements for active travel (walking, wheeling, and cycling) throughout East Renfrewshire. Previous contracts tendered as mini competitions have delivered a series of such small but important schemes, creating footway links, suppressing vehicle speeds, improving visibility and junction safety. This Mini Competition continues the theme, addressing a single specific location at Clarkston Toll. The key objectives are reducing the crossing distances for pedestrians, while ensuring large vehicles can continue to execute a left turn manoeuvre from Eastwoodmains Rd to Clarkston Rd and ensuring that the width of the island is suitable for pedestrian needs.
