Argyll and Bute Council (A&BC) is committed to addressing the climate emergency by reducing its carbon footprint and achieving net zero emissions. As part of this commitment, A&BC is developing a Net Zero Route Map (NZRM) to guide its decarbonisation efforts. To provide a robust foundation for this plan, the Council requires consultancy services to establish a comprehensive carbon emissions baseline and develop science-based targets (SBTs). The primary aim of this commission is to equip Argyll and Bute Council with the data and targets necessary to drive its net zero ambitions. This will involve establishing a detailed understanding of the Council’s current carbon emissions and setting ambitious, yet achievable targets based on scientific principles. These outputs will directly inform the NZRM and provide a framework for ongoing monitoring and action.
