Tender description

The Scottish Ministers invites bids for the purchase of an automated scoring system for analysis of micronuclei.This instrument will be used by scientists in the Science, Evidence, Data and Digital (SEDD) portfolio to analyse the micronucleus test, an indicator of genotoxicity which is included in the UK Clean Seas Environment Monitoring Programme (CSEMP). Monitoring of biological effects of contaminants in the Scottish marine environment supports Scotland’s hazardous substances monitoring programme. Data generated from this is used in status assessment as part of environmental descriptors for the Scottish Marine Assessment, and UK Marine Strategy.
