Where the supplied staff will work South East England Why the work is being done The work is being done to provide key integration services (including MoD's ‘Application Programming Interface (API) First’ directive) through the design, development, sustain and maintain of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and the various gateways these flow through whilst providing advice and guidance to the wider Army and Defence. The business problem you need to solve APIs enable the passage of data from one system to another and are controlled by gateways that provide security and access to that data. This requires robust documentation, increased levels of security, comprehensive testing, routine versioning, and high reliability to ensure data continues to flow to enable Defence capabilities. These requirements often go beyond the scope of most software-based activities and the use of APIs necessitates dedicated suitably qualified and experienced personnel to deliver the services. First user type: The users of this service are Army and Defence Business Teams who require new API interfaces and/or wish to use existing interfaces for the purpose of using data for applications, capabilities, and analytics and/or require deployment, support and licences for an API Gateway to be deployed in Defence environments outside of the Army Hosting Environment/Army Cloud.
