Tender description

The requirement is for a Data Centre Management Service is as fully specified with the Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, with an overview provided below. Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) plans to replace its on‑premises compute/storage/network infrastructure and relocate them to supplier hosted Datacentres. The Trust’s current virtual environment runs VMware, but there is a strategic requirement to avoid long‑term lock‑in and to be able to migrate to other hypervisors such as Microsoft Hyper‑V, Azure Stack, Nutanix or another future platform. This procurement seeks a service partner who can supply a fully managed service, operate the virtualisation platform and optionally manage guest operating systems and backup/disaster‑recovery services. All equipment will be hosted in a resilient pair of data centres and the successful bidder will work with the Trust to migrate its existing defined workloads.
