Construction of an active travel path in Iochdar, South Uist

Tender description

HITRANS (the Highlands & Islands Transport Parnership) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to construct an active travel route in Iochdar, South Uist. Lot 1: HITRANS (The Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership) wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for works to construct an active travel path in Iochdar, South Uist. The path will connect the Primary School with residential areas, football field, shop and community hall. HITRANS are working closely with Iochdar Community Council, who initiated the project, and the works will be Project Managed by consultants Pell Frischmann, who developed the route design in collaboration with the local community. The route will travel from the east side of Sgoil an Iochdar playground and follow Bualadabh to the junction with the A865. The route will consist of an off-road 3-metre-wide shared use path, accessible to all users. In some sections a boardwalk will be installed to address the risk of flooding in those areas.
