Tender description
Dumfries & Galloway Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced organisation ideally with an engineering background to undertake a comprehensive crane condition / reliability survey. Dumfries and Galloway Council operate a Mechanical Biological Waste Treatment facility located in Dumfries. The plant operates with 2 overhead gantry cranes which are used to lift and transfer waste around the fully automated waste treatment facility which has been in situ since 2006. The completed survey is intended to inform the Council of the cranes current condition, any immediate remedial action necessary and set out the requirements for future annual maintenance and servicing. Lot 1: Dumfries and Galloway Council operate a Mechanical Biological Waste Treatment facility located in Dumfries. Construction on the site started in 2004 and was completed in 2006. The plant operates with 2 overhead gantry cranes which are used to lift and transfer waste around the fully automated waste treatment facility The plant was designed and constructed by Italian company Systema Ecodeco and operates with 2 Demag waste handling cranes, overhead electric top-running crane with a single hoist trolley unit. The scope of works should include, but not be limited to, the following: - Internal endoscopic inspection and vibration analysis of the hoist gearboxes. - Vibration analysis of the rope drum, trolley wheels, hoist motor, trolley motor/gearbox, bridge motors/gearboxes and bridge wheels to determine the level of internal component degradation. - Measurement of the bridge and trolley wheels and compare to OEM specification. - Insulation and winding resistance measurements on all motors. - Rope drum inspection using specialist tools to measure the amount of wear present in the contact surfaces. - Disassembly, thorough cleaning and measurement of the internal components of the hoist, trolley and bridge brake units and compare to OEM specification. - General crane control panel electrical component condition analysis to include thorough examination of the trolley festoon mechanics, power and control flatform cables and hoist encoder cable. - Carry out thermal imaging surveys in addition to the component condition analysis to further determine problematic areas prior to potential failure. - Provide a comprehensive Crane Reliability Study structured report detailing all recommendations, corrective actions and remedial repairs. - All/Any supporting documentation. - A Geometric Survey or equivalent to provide accurate information detailing the alignment and the square of a crane. The scope of the survey should include wheels, guide rollers, end trucks, girders, and other components of the crane. - A 3D Runway Survey or equivalent to deliver accurate information on the alignment of the crane runway and expert recommendations for any needed corrective actions.. The Council requests that only organisations with the relevant capability, experience and qualifications register interest in this notice. Any feedback that can be offered is welcomed.
