Tender description
RSVP by Friday 14th November 2025 The event will take place on Monday 17th November 2025. To book your place or ask questions, please contact: Kathryn Levens – Service Lead Provider Services [email protected] David Gray – Service Manager – Housing Crisis Prevention and Intervention [email protected] Wigan Council is committed to ensuring that all children in care, including Separated Children and Young People (unaccompanied asylum-seeking children), have access to safe, loving, and high-quality homes—ideally within the borough. The strategy aligns with the Progress with Unity plan, aiming to create fair opportunities and flourishing communities. Most separated young people are placed in semi-independent accommodation, often outside Wigan (e.g., Liverpool, Bolton). Wigan aims to expand local provision to offer more choice and diversity, including accommodation and/or support for young people aged 16+ and also to be able to accommodate young people over the age of 18 whilst awaiting their home office decision. Wigan Council seeks to collaborate with providers who: • Have experience supporting asylum-seeking young people • Can offer culturally sensitive support • Maintain legal and housing partnerships to aid transitions to adulthood • Are Ofsted-compliant for those young people aged 16-18 years and committed to quality improvement Who should attend? Providers of: • Social and Private landlords • Semi-independent accommodation • Wraparound support services RSVP by Friday 14th November 2025 To book your place or ask questions, please contact: Kathryn Levens – Service Lead Provider Services [email protected] David Gray – Service Manager – Housing Crisis Prevention and Intervention [email protected] Keywords: Event, Young People, Children in Care, Collaboration , Provider Engagement
