Tender description

The Port of Felixstowe, Suffolk (“the Port”), operated by the Employer, is the biggest and busiest container port in the UK and one of the largest in Europe. It handles more than four million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) and 3,000 ships each year, including the largest container vessels afloat today. The Employer is a subsidiary company of Hutchison Ports UK Limited, a member of the Hong Kong based Hutchison Ports Group, the world’s leading port investor, developer and operator. In the UK the Employer also operates Harwich International Port, Essex and London Thamesport, Kent. The Employer is engaged in a transformational programme of implementing automated and remote technologies into the business. Due to the location, varying age, suitability and condition of the existing offices and operations centre the Employer now seeks to consolidate these functions into a single new building to support its transformational programme; a uniting centralised workplace, “the HUB”. The Works are required to be completed in 2026. Modular with a traditional core is expected to be the design solution that will meet the Employer’s delivery, quality and budget requirements and must be a consideration of the design team and the Contractor to expedite programme to deliver the Works in 2026.
