Supply of In-Service Support for Eddy Current Flaw Detector Equipment PA - 23

DE&S Deca, on behalf of the Air Commodities Delivery Team and part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to enter into a contract with ETher NDE Ltd to provide an enduring requirement for In-Service Support (ISS) of Eddy Current Flaw Detector Non-Destructive Test Equipment, held at various locations within the MOD.. Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Air Commodities Delivery Team (ACDT) has an obligation to provide enduring Eddy Current Flaw Detector Testing (ET) support for Non-Destructive Test Equipment (NDTE) Squadrons to test components off multiple platforms. The requirement is to retain an ET capability which will be used by the Regional Non-Destructive Test Teams (RNDTT) for aircraft structural integrity inspections that cannot be checked by other means. ET equipment is able to identify common flaws, which include fatigue-initiated cracking, corrosion and paint or insulation thickness. The kits are used by 71 Inspection and Repair (IR) Squadron and 1710 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) at multiple RAF and Navy bases throughout the UK, Europe and also on navy ships. The Aerocheck Eddy Current Flaw Detector Kits are still in production and supported by OEM ETher NDE.
