North East Area Council Detached Youth Work Fund 26-28

North East Area Council (NEAC) has identified funding to increase the capacity and availability of detached youth work opportunities across the North East Area for the period 2026 – 2028. The Area Council invites applications from voluntary and community sector groups and organisations to deliver intelligence led, street-based youth work for young people aged 13 years plus. Groups may bid for up to £46,000 per year to deliver innovative, flexible youth work to positively influence young people’s lives by providing support, guidance and social engagement that will enhance their development and encourage active citizenship. Any activity that is new or enhances a group’s usual offer and can demonstrate the outcomes of the Detached Youth Work Fund will be considered. These include: Opportunities: Advertise and work with youth volunteering opportunities and youth social action activities Goals: Raise the levels of young people’s goals and self-belief Growth: Value young people’s interests and help them to grow. Young Person Centred: Young person-centred model. Explain how you will uphold the engagement charter model designed by young people within your application. All projects should contribute to Barnsley MBC’s strategic priorities and Key Strategies, including but not limited to The Great Childhood Ambition.
