Tender description

UCD has developed a series of bacterial antigens which have proven effective in proof-of-concept studies and which the aim is to further develop and translate to humans. The lead target antigen is 22 kDa cytosolic bacterial protein and is currently His-tagged to facilitate affinity purification. UCD have developed a lab-scale expression and purification protocol, which will be provided to the successful contractor. We require contract protein manufacture and purification services. The purpose of the work is to appropriately scale-up the antigen to produce ~200mg batches of protein at a standard that will confirm feasibility of technology transfer and that can be used in GLP toxicology studies in mice, to ensure safety of the developed product. Ultimately, UCD would like the process to be amenable to production in a GMP facility in the future.
