Tender description

The proposal consists of the construction of an all-new Heritage Rolling Stock Shed for Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group (ARPG) based in the former Ironworks at Dunaskin, Patna, KA6 7JH. The construction comprises an un-insulated clad portal frame with metal profiled sheeting to wall and roofs, with steel access and roller shutter service doors. Lot 1: Industrial Building Steelwork Designed to BS5950 and fabricated in Accordance with EN1090 Execution Class 2. Steel Framed Building: Length 65.000m, Width 18.000m, Eaves Height 6.500m, Roof Pitch 15º. STEELWORK: To supply for erection on prepared site and concrete foundations, steel portal frame 5.909m centres with 406 x 178 x 60kg UB stanchions with web stiffeners and 356 x 171 x 45kg UB rafters with rafter stays. One gable frame to have 6 No. 305 x 165 x 40kg UB intermediate sub stanchions , the other gable frame to have 2 No. 305 x 165 x 40kg UB intermediate sub stanchions including CHS rafter and side bracing to both end bays, complete with CHS eaves ties. All steelwork to be shotblasted to S.A.2.5 and painted with a 80 micron high build zinc phosphate primer. PURLINS: To supply galvanised steel purlins by Steel Section Ltd bolted to frame at 1.525m centres. Eaves beam to be galvanised steel. ROOF CLADDING: To supply 1000 profile 0.7mm thick Polyester anti condensation coated box profile steel sheets including ridge and verge flashings with all necessary fixings. ROOF LIGHTS: Incorporate 80 No. 1.525m GRP class 3 roof lights in roof cladding positioned to suit customer’s requirements. RAINWATER GOODS: Eaves to have standard galvanised steel box gutter fixed externally to brackets welded onto stanchions, complete with 4 No. 110mm Ø UPVC downpipes to each side, including mastic sealed joints. END CLADDING: Both gable ends to be clad down to 6.500m below eaves level, with 0.7mm thick Polyester coated box profile steel sheets on galvanised steel sheeting rails. Complete with a drip cill. SIDE CLADDING: Both sides to be clad down to 6.500m below eaves level, with 0.7mm thick Polyester coated box profile steel sheets on galvanised steel sheeting rails. Complete with a drip cill. DOORS: 3 and allow for potential 4 No. Door Ways to be 4.500m wide x 5.500m high, positioned 3 on one gable end and possibly one on the other gable end. 5 No. Personnel Doors in Goosewing Grey with external multi-point locking. (additional cost for different colours will be applied if required) – framed with cold rolled steel.
