Experience Newquay – Monoliths – additional contract payment for Artist Robin Sullivan/Alma Artspace 'Robin Sullivan X ALMA Artspace The Newquay Monoliths Proposal; In collaboration with the community, Robin Sullivan & ALMA have proposed to deliver this ambitious project, which combines an acknowledgement of Newquay’s ancient history and heritage as well as the needs and interests of the contemporary community. This project has the potential to connect with local people through far-reaching engagement activity, workshops and public events, as well as longer term for communities and visitors to Newquay. The ambition of ALMA and Robin Sullivan is that the sculptures will create a new significance for the spaces where they are installed, and a revived interest in the history of Newquay. They will be actively working with a range of people from all sections of the community in the planning and making phase, to inspire and engage as many local people as possible. Aim to host a series of accessible workshops, walking tours, geology workshops and history walks for all ages during the initial phase of the project - which began summer 2024. The installation and unveiling of the project has been delayed (to Sept 2025), with additional work agreed by Artist Robin Sullivan.
