WCCC25 382 Childers Estate New Public Lighting

Tender description

Due to the age and deteriorating condition of the existing public lighting infrastructure on the estate including the use of obsolete concentric cabling, the system is now considered to be at the end of its operational life and requires full replacement. This contract shall include but is not limited to the following works: Removal and Disposal Safe removal and environmentally compliant disposal of all existing public lighting poles luminaires and associated cabling. Civil Engineering Works Execution of all necessary civil works to facilitate removal installation and full reinstatement of affected areas. Electrical Design Preparation and submission of a full electrical lighting design including cable calculations circuit diagrams and layout plans. Column and ducting locations shall be proposed primarily within grass verges to minimise disruption to concrete footpaths and road surfaces thereby optimising cost efficiency and value for money. Supply of Materials Provision of all luminaires public lighting columns cables ducting micro-pillars junction boxes and associated civil and electrical components in accordance with the Waterford City and County Council (WCCC) Public Lighting Specification. Micro-Pillar Installation Installation of micro-pillars to serve as electrical supply points for the lighting system including all excavation base construction and reinstatement works. Electrical Cabling Supply and installation of electrical cabling from the micro-pillars to individual luminaire junction boxes. Lighting Column and Luminaire Installation Erection and installation of public lighting columns lanterns, and luminaires as per approved design and specifications. Commissioning and Certification Full testing and commissioning of the new lighting system including the issuance of all required completion and compliance certificates in line with WCCC and relevant statutory regulations. ESB Connection Preparation and submission of the NC4 application to the ESB for electrical connection. Ancillary and Landscaping Works Execution of all necessary ancillary works including landscaping and reinstatement of disturbed areas to original or improved condition.
