Tender description

The University wishes to appoint a Supplier or Suppliers able to provide simulated patients (SPs) for medical and healthcare programmes within the faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) including, but not limited to MB ChB, PA Programme and Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE). <br /><br />The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) is funded by the NHS and hosted by the University of Manchester. It provides postgraduate learning for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across England. Further details can be found at https://www.cppe.ac.uk/<br /><br />The requirement is for reliable SPs to provide a wide cover of areas to support the training of students.<br /><br />A consistently high standard of role play service is essential, as is dependence of numbers at the times and dates required.<br /><br />The Supplier(s) will be expected to supply SPs for a variety of medical and healthcare programmes, which will require a Supplier with a large number of diverse SPs on their books or a number of Suppliers who can provide a diverse range of niche SPs. Simulated patients are required to support both teaching and assessment as part of our programmes in a timely way. Larger programmes will require a Lead SP to coordinate SP processes during examination day; a clear role description will be required for these lead SPs. Reserve SPs will be expected to be provided on standby should they be required to cover absences on the day, however the cost of these will be covered by the Supplier, as part of their administration/ management fee.<br /><br />A wide variety of medical and health conditions will be represented. We will also expect a diverse representation of the community in the SPs selected, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, religion and disability. Please be aware single or multiple requirements may be requested throughout the year. Regardless of the numbers requested at any one time, it is expected that the successful Supplier(s) provide appropriate respectful, reliable, and a consistently high standard of service. The University is seeking to put in place an agreement for up to 3 years (with a review after the first 12 months) with option to extend for up to a further two years. <br /><br />It is the Suppliers responsibility to ensure any SPs provide the service to the agreed standard.<br />
