Old Colwyn & Rhos on Sea Ground Investigation Survey

Tender description

The tender was to undertake a Ground Investigation Survey at two locations:• Old Colwyn - site area approx. 5.4ha• Rhos On Sea (Colwyn Bay Waterfront Phase 2B) – site area approx. 5haThe Ground Surveys were required to inform the detailed design of proposed upgrades / improvements to the existing Coastal Defences and public realm in each location. The surveys were consisted of a mixture of sampling techniques including but not limited to hand and machine excavated trial trenches, boreholes, plate load testing and a sizing survey of existing armour defences.Works were required both seaward and landward of the existing coastal defences therefore works will need to be suitably programmed and risk assessed.Full details can be found within the two specification documents.
