Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) are currently reviewing their waste collection services across the organisation. To comply with new Government legislation, WCHG are looking at suppliers that can implement a mandatory weekly food waste service to all of our sites, listed below, ideally alongside our other waste collection services. The project is a legislatively driven initiative in response to the Environment Act which became law in November 2021 For that reason, WCHG is seeking to engage with the marketplace, and understand the solutions that may be currently available in the market for these services. WCHG is therefore conducting a soft market test to explore these elements and better understand business, technological and innovative solutions that are available not only on our food waste collection but across all of WCHGs waste collection and support the organisation in the separation and recycling of mixed, dry recyclables (glass, metal, plastic) paper and card. In addition, this will allow WCHG to review the level of market interest. To ideally procure a service from a local supplier.
