Design & Construction of the BOXBAY Empty Superstack

Tender description

The highbay stack system ("HBS") will be a BoxBay empty superstack for storage of containers, which is positioned between the existing Berths 3 and 4 that are already in operation at London Gateway Port ("LGP"). The implementation of this HBS is required for LGP's efficient management of empty containers in circulation at LGP. This will enable a more efficient and effective transition of goods and services provided by LGP, delivering benefits to the UK trade sectors and the wider economy. The scope of the requirement includes: a) The full design, engineering and manufacturing works for the major bespoke equipment for the HBS; b) The supply of a bespoke Storage and Retrieval Machine (SRM) necessary for the automation functions; c) The installation and erection management and technical assistance, providing technical direction at site for the integration of the major equipment with works provided by others to ensure the HBS operates as intended; and d) The Commissioning services to prepare the HBS for operations ## Contract award Title: Design & Construction of the BOXBAY Empty Superstack
