The proposed procurement will enable the Council to appoint a single contractor to carry out essential works for Roof works to rooftop playground (phase 4 & 5) at Oaklands Secondary School. This specification pertains to the overlay of an existing, prepared felt waterproofing system at Oaklands Secondary School. The building features an Inverted Roof System. Over time, applied loads have caused indentations in the XPS insulation layer, resulting in uneven settlement of the paving slabs. This condition has created multiple trip hazards across the roof terrace. It is recommended that remedial works be undertaken to address the associated water ingress and drainage issues. These works should include the repair or replacement of compromised insulation and the installation of a new, robust overlay system. All repair and refurbishment works are to be carried out using Langley Waterproofing Systems, ensuring compliance with current best practices for flat roof refurbishment and long-term system integrity. The procurement of the required works will awarded to Ashe Roofing via Direct Award through the LHC Framework, specifically LHC RS5M Framework (Lot 2 – Liquid Flat Roofing). This approach ensures compliance with regulations while securing access to prequalified contractors with a proven track record in delivering high-quality flat roof refurbishment and replacement works.
