The proposed procurement will enable the Council to appoint a single contractor to carry out essential works for the Roof Renewal to South Wing (phase 2) at Morpeth Secondary School. The primary objective of this project is to permanently resolve ongoing water ingress issues at Morpeth Secondary School by replacing the existing, failing warm roof system with a durable, weatherproof solution. This will involve the complete removal of the current single-ply system and installation of the Langley TA-20W warm roof system across all three connected roof sections. The new system will protect key internal areas—including classrooms, corridors, offices, and the library—from further damage, ensuring a safe, dry, and functional learning environment. The project also aims to support long-term maintenance by potentially incorporating fixed ladder access and will be delivered within the summer holiday period to avoid disruption to the school’s operations. This replacement is essential to improve classroom conditions and enhance overall energy efficiency. The procurement of the required works will awarded to Acclaim Contracts via Direct Award through the LHC Framework, specifically LHC RS5M Framework (Lot 1 – Traditional Flat Roofing) This approach ensures compliance with regulations while securing access to prequalified contractors with a proven track record in delivering high-quality flat roof refurbishment and replacement works.
