Tender description

Apex wishes to appoint a Firm to provide external audit services with effect for FYE 31st March 2025. The Services to be provided include: • The audit of the statutory accounts of the Apex Housing Association Group (see group structure below) • Attendance at the Association’s AGM normally held in late June each year. • The provision of a comprehensive Management Letter • The audit of any relevant statutory returns. A Designated Auditor must hold a recognised accounting and auditing qualification and be registered to practice as an auditor in Northern Ireland with one of the main accounting bodies in the UK and Ireland, and must be registered to sign audits in both Northern Ireland and Ireland. This is a condition of participation. As a Registered Housing Association (RHA), Apex is required to be registered with the Registrar of Credit Unions as an Industrial and Provident Society and with the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland in order to access public funds to build new dwellings or refurbish existing units of accommodation. Apex provides a range of dwelling types and support services to meet social housing need identified in those local communities within which it operates. The accommodation and services provided include:  General needs accommodation for families and single persons;  Purpose built accommodation for the elderly;  Supported housing for people with disabilities including those with mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, and those who are physically disabled; and  Support services for vulnerable groups. The Services to be provided include: • The audit of statutory accounts of Apex Housing Association • Attendance at the Association’s AGM normally held in late June each year • The provision of a comprehensive Management Letter • The audit of any relevant statutory returns The contract period will be for an initial 2 years with an optional 12 month extension (2+1).
