Procurement of General Building Works - Soft Market Testing/Market Engagement

Tender description

The purpose of the envisaged procurement is to enter into a Schedule of Rates Contract for Day to Day Responsive Repairs, Installations and Planned Maintenance, including Out of Hours Emergency Works – General Building Works, to buildings owned by the Council or in which the Council has an interest, for example Libraries, Leisure Centres, Administration Centres, Industrial Units and Schools etc. within the administrative boundaries of the Council, with a single contractor. The envisaged General Building Works will be packaged and include – • Brickwork • Fire Stopping & Doors • Joinery • Painting • Plastering • Plumbing • Scaffolding • Structural The Council is issuing this Preliminary Market Engagement Questionnaire to raise awareness of a forthcoming contract opportunity for the delivery of General Building Works (the” Contract”) and to give interested parties the option to participate in a Soft Market Testing (SMT) exercise (the “Exercise”). This Exercise aims to provide the Council with the market providers’ views on its proposed approach and to help shape the procurement documents and service design that appeal to current markets and offer value for money solutions. Interested participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a market engagement event prior to the commencement of the procurement process, should the Council require this.
