Cumberland Council is committed to supporting people to achieve optimum health, be independent, reduce health inequalities, provide customer choice and improve the health and wellbeing of its customers. Cumberland has a rural geography and building on the natural strengths of our local communities, our ambition is to promote the development of local care solutions to meet local needs. Cumberland Council wishes to commission a provider to deliver the Cumberland support/prevention Microenterprise Service, sustaining the 44 existing care micro-enterprises established in Cumberland and supporting the development of new care and prevention microenterprises. To provide small scale, flexible, responsive, high quality local care services to sit alongside Cumberland existing Commissioned Adult Care Services (Homecare, Extra Care, Supported Living & Day Opportunities.) To provide Cumberland customers with choice and control over their own care. The council proposes to enter into the contract for an initial period of 12 months with the successful tenderer. There are 2 optional extensions for up to 12 months each. If the contract runs for the initial period only it will end on 01/08/2026. If the contract uses all of the optional extension periods it will end on 01/08/2028. The estimated total value of the contract over the total contract period (including any extension period) is a maximum value of £303,000. but no guarantee is given as to the actual value of the contract. Extensions are indicative only and the council does not guarantee these. Any extensions will be confirmed with successful suppliers.
