EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE PROVISION OF REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL SERVICES FOR AN OBSOLETE COUNCIL TAX MACHINE

Tender description

Gosport Borough Council are looking for a suitable company to dismantle and dispose of a piece of machinery that is now obsolete but was previously used to print Council Tax documents. The machine is a Maximailer 1430. The input voltage is 230 Volts @ 50 Hz. The weight of the machine is 290kg – unpackaged and consists of 3 x Feeders and 3-Plate Folder. Below the machine are 3 x storage cupboards. No data is stored on the machine. Disposal will be from Floor 2 of the Town Hall, located in Gosport High Street, PO12 1EB and the machine will need to be dismantled on site. Disposal should be in accordance with the below and be Free of Charge to Gosport Borough Council. 1. Secure disposal: Arrange for the machine to be disposed of by a certified waste disposal provider who can securely handle electronic equipment. If the machine is being scrapped, ensure it is physically destroyed or rendered unusable to prevent any potential data recovery. 2. Third-party assurance: If using a third-party disposal service, ensure they provide a certificate of destruction or similar documentation, even if no personal data was involved. This supports accountability under UK GDPR Article 5. Gosport Borough Council will require Public Liability Insurance and a suitable Risk Assessment.
