AHP is seeking to appoint a Main Contractor who is an experienced mechanical, electrical and civils contractor, to manage the overall delivery of the decarbonisation project which will include construction of concrete bases for the main plant, installation of free-issued air source heat pumps and gas boiler plant, supply and installation of waste heat offtake equipment and management of AHP's heat network installation contractor. Lot 1: Hazlehead Heat Network is an existing district heat network that is operated by Aberdeen Heat and Power (AHP) and has an annual demand of circa 5,000MWh. The existing heat network energy centre is located within a school site which is planned for demolition and redevelopment. This offers the opportunity to construct a new low carbon energy centre within the new school development to supply low carbon heat to the existing heat network and the new school, by utilising waste heat and air source heat pumps, with peak and reserve heat supply provided by gas boilers.
